Hi I'm Colbie

I love trying new things and sharing my testimony. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Minneapolis Minnesota. My favorite hobbies include swimming, biking, shooting, and baseball. I have always had a love of leadership, in fact, I set up a City Council for Youth in my home town. I am the oldest of 6 kids. I have 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 rockin parents. I enjoy vacationing with my family. Even if it is just staying in a hotel over night, we enjoy being together. God is first, Family second. I believe that when these two things are in place, everything else will fall in line.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself the joy of living a Christlike life as opposed to a life centered on myself. I have felt my Heavenly Father's love for me through repentance. I love the spirit and the feeling that I get when I find out truth that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints provides.

How I live my faith

The scriptures invite us to "Come unto Christ and be perfected in him." Not only am I striving to live in a way that I can come unto Christ, but I am trying to help others to come unto him as well. Being an ambassador of the Lord is something I try to do every day through my example. I hope that people can see that I live by asking myself, "what would Jesus do?" Hopefully it catches on so that others can enjoy the blessings of Jesus Christ. I am now living my faith by bringing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to people that haven't heard it. Missionary work is a consecration of my time, talents, and efforts to show my faith in Christ. I try every day to "talk of Christ...rejoice in Christ...preach of Christ... and prophesy of Christ."

What is faith?

Colbie
Faith is defined as a hope for things which are not seen but are TRUE! I have not seen God in person, but I know He is there, that He is our Father, and that He loves us. I've gained this witness through study, prayer, and feelings that the Spirit brings to my heart. In the scriptures faith is compared to a seed. If nourished and cared for it can grow into something beautiful. Likewise when our faith is strengthened through scriptures, prayer, and earnest seeking it can grow into a personal knowledge of truth through the witness of the Holy Spirit. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Colbie
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was, is, and always will be a church of service, outreach, missionary work, and friendship. Why would we keep something so valuable to ourselves? We seek to uplift everyone we come in contact with, Mormon or not. The savior was the greatest example of this. He went around doing good to even those who did not believe. His help and service was not limited to his immediate disciples. Likewise, His Church is not limited to help only those of the same faith, but to anyone and everyone. Show more Show less
