Hi I'm Russ

I grew up in Farmington. I like football and baseball. You can find me in Korea Busan, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three boys. My whole family loves sports, watching and playing it. I have been called to serve in the Korea, Busan Mission. I plan on going to the Utah State University when I return. I played baseball and football in high school. In my free time I like to go running and play whiffle ball with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that there is nothing more true on this earth than the Book of Mormon. I have found out for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and it when I did find that out, it was the greatest feeling on earth. The teachings and the people in the Book of Mormon have helped me to shape my life. My hero in the Book of Mormon is Chief Captain Moroni, this is because in the Book of Mormon it says "If all men had been, and were, and would ever be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." -Alma 48:17. Now I don't want anyone to get the idea that our church is centered around the Book of Mormon, our church is centered around our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. He is the reason we go to church, to become like him, luckily for us he has given us tools such as the Book of Mormon to help us become like him. I love the Gospel and the Joy it brings into my life, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by standing up for what I know to be true, even if I am the only one that is standing. An example is when I went to California with my baseball team. The whole team was going to Disneyland on Sunday, but I knew that I shouldn't be doing that on Sunday. Luckily my uncle lives in California and I was able to go to church with him. I was unaware that there was another kid who didn't want to go to Disneyland on Sunday. So me and him were able to go to church together. This helped me to see that we will never stand alone for what we believe in.
