Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a loving husband and father, lover of our country America, and life-long Mormon.

About Me

I am first and foremost a family man, having been blessed with my wonderful wife and our 4 precious children. My wife and I met while at school and then were married. Later, we proceeded to bring 4 beautiful children into this world. We have been blessed by each of our children and their wonderful personalities. My time is spent with my family. They are my life and my joy. I was a scout in my youth and received my Eagle Scout. I am also an ardent defender of our constitution and am involved in the political process as I believe everyone should be.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me as a Mormon since I was born. As a child/teenager, I continued to learn principles that our church would teach us, but I wanted to know for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, to which I belonged, was true. I prayed for myself and received a strong answer (more of a strong and undeniable feeling) that I knew that this church was true. I also received a feeling/testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that The Book of Mormon is true and is a second witness to the divinity of my Savior Jesus Christ as is The Holy Bible. I believe in this so much that I served for two years of my life on a mission for the church in serving and teaching the people of Peru. To this day, I have only had these feelings/testimony strengthened as I continue to serve and to teach my family to follow the example set by our Savior Jesus Christ. I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for each of his children to return to live with him again some day if we will follow the teachings of his son, Jesus Christ. I believe that he has given us scriptures to know His will and also modern prophets to receive guidance and inspiration to help us in this life and in the life to come. I know that we can live as families for eternity if we strive to be Christ-like in all we do.

How I live my faith

I believe followers of Christ must follow His perfect example of service. I believe every soul has the need to be served and to serve. Ours is a church and faith of service. We receive no monetary compensation for our service in any position in our church but rather we receive great blessings for the same. I have held different callings in each area I have lived in that have held different responsibilities and blessings associated with serving others. It was through a particular calling where I had to know all the people in our local church group (called a ward) that I met and married my wife. True joy is found in serving others as I strive to serve my family, neighbors, and my local community. I also believe and strive to serve nationally by trying to be involved politically to help shape our laws by talking to lawmakers to have laws that strengthen families. My family and I also faithfully attend a three hour block of meetings every Sunday to renew our commitment to God and His Son Jesus Christ, to build our knowledge of and faith in them, and to fellowship with like-minded people. We derive collective strength from one another as we do and set the tone for the challenges of life in the coming week. I also willingly live the Lord's law of tithing taught to and by His holy prophets. It's my way of giving back as I have been given much.
