Hi I'm Steven Mark Ericksen

I was born of goodly parents, growing up in the land of Bountiful, I was taught in the language of my fathers. and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Life is a journey and what a path it has been so far. Can't say it has not been without it's trials, but looking back those trials have been small compared to the challenges I have seen in many parts of this beautiful world we live in. Married to a wonderful mother of my children, and will be for ever. I have experienced the dark face of cancer, only as the care giver. Witnessed the goodness of neighbors and friends. I have loved the quiet sun filled days of summer and the long cold winter nights. I've looked out over vast oceans, climbed to the tops of mountains, been overwhelmed by the crowds of humanity flowing to the rivers edge. even touched the sky in the vast regions of this planet. But there is no place like home. I look forward to the days ahead, knowing that this journey continues towards things unknown, challenges unseen, good times and bad times for sure. I will keep my hat on my powder dry and my fly on top of the water. For I love this life I have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

To start with I am a Mormon because my great great grandfather and grandmother left the rolling hills of Denmark to heed the Prophets voice and come to Zion. They joined the L.D.S. religion in the mist of persecution and poverty. They longed for something they could understand and hold on to. From the dust the voices of past prophets spoke to them and from their small home in Tornved they heard to word of truth and they believed. Against so many odds they brought their family to Utah, my great great grandfather gave his life on the last part of their journey. So I am a Mormon because that is the gift they left to me, to start with. I am a Mormon because I have a loving Father in Heaven that has promised me that If I search and ponder He will reveal the truth to me. I have done that. I am a Mormon because I promised my Father in heaven before I came to this life that I would follow His son Jesus Christ and would put my faith in Him, I try to do that everyday of my life, sadly many days I fail to do so, but I am a Mormon because my Savior forgives me of my faults and failures, He is there when I look for Him. I am a Mormon because, What else could I be?

How I live my faith

I have been given much so I to must give. Serving others is the quickest way I know to turn my face toward God. I have come to realize that serving without love is all consuming and can falter easily. Family is the core of my happiness, my sweetheart makes sure we have family activities often and are filled with fun and adventure. (A blessing to my children for if they depended on me it would get pretty boring). Each week we meet together friends and neighbors, most I know, some are new, but all are welcomed. We teach, learn, share and listen. Most importantly we remember our Lord and Savior, His Atonement for each of us. That helps me throughout the week.
