Hi I'm Jeremy

I grew up in the small country towns of Texas, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the average small town Texan. I payed football in high school along with other sports such as power lifting and shot put. I wish my school offered wrestling but they didn't but thats ok. I also participated in Ag and FFA. i took care of horses and helped take care of my sister's pig, and even built a deer feeder. Out side of school I became an Eagle scout. I also attend Marine PT because when I come home from my mission I want to do NROTC for Texas A&M to be a Marine for my country. I am now serving the Lord for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church I did the natural go to church every Sunday type deal because that's what my parents believe. I wasn't really sure if it was the true church. I have heard many people tell me it is true with out a doubt in their mind. I still was not sure and wanted to be sure so bad. My parents then offered to send me to EFY in San Antonio at the age of 16. EFY is a special youth camp that the church does for young women and young men ages 12 to 18. We were asked to go off and write in our journals. I wasn't one for writing but I felt like I needed to pray to know if this is all true. In my prayer I asked if this was the lords church once again restored by a modern day prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt this feeling of something warm welling up inside of me and started to tear up a little which wasn't normal for me to do because of how I grew up. It was there that I was able to feel the witness from Spirit that the Book of Mormon was true. By finding that out I was able to also know that the prophets were called by the Lord and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lords kingdom once again restored to the Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every where I go. In school in athletics and other activities. There have been instances when I have shared my beliefs to a whole class at times. The experience I can recall best happened senior year. It started before an FFA trip to San Antonio. A friend of mine was telling one of his friends that I was a Mormon. His friend then started to ask what we believe happened to us after we die. Before i go any further I would like to say that am a very quiet and to my self kind of guy. I was the one in speech class that feared going in front of every one. For some reason when this boy asked me, I knew exactly what to do. I grabbed a marker and started to draw on the white board the plan of salvation. While I was doing this all the kids came to the class room from the ag shop. After I had finished labeling and drawing every thing I was able to answer this boy's question along with the rest of the class. Being from a small town we all had the similar back ground as christians. So it did make sense to them. and I spoke for a while on it. After it was done I couldn't believe i had done that. In reality it wasn't all me. The spirit had spoke through me and guided me to teach that lesson and because of that missionary experience I believe that i can serve a mission and that Joseph smith is a true prophet. I believe that The plan of salvation is God's plan for us to return to him. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
