Hi I'm Emily Adriana

I'm a student, linguist, and a sister. I love to travel and learn about the world around me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of eight children, which means in addition to my own adventures, I get to experience many others second-hand. I grew up learning Spanish and English, and from a young age learned to respect the different cultures that exist all around me. I'm currently a student at Brigham Young University, where I study Linguistics and Arabic. I love learning about other languages and cultures. I have studied Arabic, Spanish, and Russian, as well as a little Chinese and German. I had a wonderful opportunity to teach English in Costa Rica, and met so many wonderful people. In my free time I love to run, read, explore, and do family history work. I have recently felt a strong affinity for my Dutch ancestors for who I was named. I have a passion for travel, and live by the motto to never let an opportunity to learn about the world around me pass by.

Why I am a Mormon

The church is something that helps me understand the world around me. There are so many difficult things in the world. There are so many unanswerable questions with the knowledge humanity has today. With my knowledge of the Gospel, I can have a better understanding of some of those unanswerable questions, such as where I came from and my purpose in life. With this basic and understanding that is still growing every day, I can progress through my life and live a happier life knowing there is a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I love to learn, and I love to meet people who do too. I love to do Family History work. It is a wonderful way for me to learn more about myself while at the same time learning about people in my past who each have a wonderful and inspiring story.
