Hi I'm Brent

I am a husband and a father. I am an IT professional. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a middle aged man who works hard to provide for my family. My work as an IT professional can be stressful, as can raising children in a world of declining morals. I enjoy spending time with my children and observing the vast differences in each of them. They are unique individuals and I love them for who they are and see their incredible potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. That is not to say that I have always lived my life in harmony with the gospel. Thankfully, I have been able to take part in the atonement of Jesus Christ. Being able to repent and cast off the burden of sin did not happen over night. I found that as I lived in accordance to the teachings of Christ that a deeper joy filled my life. It is a joy that is not dependent on social status or financial standing. It is a joy that fills the soul. With my family, it gives me a glimpse into the love our Father in Heaven has for us. The gospel provides a peace that is beyond understanding. I love the feeling I get when I attend my meetings or read the scriptures. It is the Holy Ghost that witnesses to me of the truthfulness of the gospel, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is not something that can be done during a Sunday service once a week. It is a process of patterning our lives after the life of Jesus Christ. One way in which I try to do this is by putting the needs of others before my own. When I serve my family and those around me, I find that my perspective changes. I see people around me as sons and daughters of our Father in Heaven. I see that the world our Father has created has order and beauty that goes beyond the surface. I have not always lived my life as I should. This fact is not something I am proud of, but it does give me a point of view that gives me a deeper appreciation of the gospel.
