Hi I'm Margaret

I have lived in Rio de Janeiro, California, Hawaii, Jerusalem and Utah. I am married with five children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah, the third oldest of seven children. I always wanted my children to have the same upbringing: backyard pond and treehouse, sports, ballet, education, musical instruments and church. I was able to share my beliefs with the people of Rio de Janeiro and then graduated from Brigham Young University after marrying a wonderful man. We have five amazing children and have been blessed to live in Northern California, Hawaii, Jerusalem and Utah. I owe all of these blessings to the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that are members of the church and I grew up with my parents teaching me about the Savior but I got to an age when I was encouraged to find out for myself if I believed. So I read the Book of Mormon all the way through from start to finish and then I knelt to pray, to ask if it was the truth. I had been taught that I was made up of spiritual nature and a physical body. God communicates to the spiritual part of me. When he communicates an answer it is either a feeling in my heart or a thought in my mind. When I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, I felt an undeniable feeling in my heart. It was a feeling of warmth and goodness. It is this feeling of goodness, that things are right, that I continue to feel as I go to church, read the scriptures and pray. If you are a member of another faith I invite you to come and bring with you all that is good in your faith and add to it. Only in the Church of Jesus Christ will you have this feeling consistently and can learn more truth through individual answers and through direction from a prophet who continues to receive revelation and direction from the Lord. This is why I'm a member of the church.

How I live my faith

It is impossible to put into words how my life has been blessed by participating as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Growing up as a child part of our Sunday meetings were to meet as a group of children ages 4-11 and learn songs that taught me of my worth, that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father who sent me here to earth to learn and experience and make choices. I loved how I felt when i was baptized at age eight. I became part of a youth organization when I turned twelve. We would meet on Sunday and during the week to study the scriptures and to do fun activities. When I went to college I became part of the largest Women's Organization in the world. We are assigned to teach and help each other as well as meet together on Sundays to study gospel topics. I was also assigned to help with the teenage girls for many years as a mentor. We would study the gospel but also do service to those inside and outside the church. These activities helped the girls as it helped me when I was a teenager, to recognize my self worth and to help others to do the same. Now as a mother of children ranging from 11 to 22, my greatest desire is to not only help my children but all of those that I come in contact with, to understand that we have a Heavenly Father and a Savior who loves us and helps us.
