Hi I'm Lizzy Hano

I grew up in Alaska. I love spending time with people. I am a Mormon!

About Me

Music is a passion of mine. I love to sing, write songs, play guitar, and sometimes tinker on the piano! I am a student but am currently preparing to serve a mission. I am going to pursue a degree in psychology because I love to help people and the way people think has always been a fascination of mine. Throughout high school I participated in the school musicals, including les miserables, phantom of the opera, and guys and dolls!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because having the restored gospel in my life is the greatest blessing that has ever happened to me. With this knowledge, I know families can be together forever. This detail is a big deal for me. When I was seven, my dad died of cancer. However, we were able to be sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the temple. This means if we continue to keep the commandments, we will be together again as a family in the afterlife. Having this knowledge is the greatest blessing, and a comfort to me.

How I live my faith

A couple of years ago I put together a project. I called it "hats for the homeless." Living in Alaska, warm hats are always needed and appreciated. I called up a local soup kitchen to get a number of people they see every day. They told me 800-900! So I made my goal 1000. With the help of church members, friends, other community groups and the honor society from my school I was able to produce, make, and gather 1062 hats two days before my deadline. It truly was a blessing. Currently I visit people in the ward who are new to the church or who need friends. I am preparing to serve a full time mission in Utah!
