Hi I'm Rachael

I was born in Hawaii. I joined the church when I was 13, and I was adopted and sealed to my family at the age of 17.

About Me

I was introduced to the church by my friend when I was 13 and quickly felt the truthfulness of the gospel. My family was very against the church but eventually allowed me to be baptized. I then met an LDS family who took me in as one of their own. I was adopted and sealed to them on August 18, 2012. I am now the fifth of seven children. I love working with kids. I worked at a daycare for over a year. I am currently a student at BYU Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was first introduced to the church everyone was so welcoming and kind. I immediately felt the love and friendship that dwelt in the hearts of the members. Everyone treated me like family. After receiving the missionary discussions, I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was, and is, the true church upon the earth. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives us hope; hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our trials in this life are truly but a small moment in the scheme of things. I know that God lives and that He knows everyone single one of us individually. I have seen His hand in my life. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, atoned for the sins of the world so that we can return to live in Their presence. I know that the ordinances performed in the temple are real, families can be together forever. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and he restored the church to its fullness. I know we have a prophet on the earth today who receives divine and spiritual revelation for us. I am a Mormon because I have come to know these truths through the power and gift of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I served as the Laurels President and Seminary President in my ward. One of my favorite parts about being a member is having the opportunity to teach children about the gospel. I often get the privilege of teaching in Primary. I have also made the decision to serve a mission. As part of this, I am preparing to serve and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Berlin, Germany. I am so excited to not only be living my faith but to now have the opportunity to invite others to live it as well.
