Hi I'm Brady Belknap

I'm an Army brat. I love being a missionary. I am a Mormon!!!

About Me

I am a 19 year old missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!! I love being a missionary! I sent a lot of time traveling growing up, because of my dad's job. We spent time in almost every place between California and North Carolina. Plus I got the unique opportunity to live for 3 year in the Middle East. So I have experienced a wide variety of cultures, but I know that my mission call to the great state of South Carolina was inspired because I love the South the best. You could just call me a country boy. I love the outdoors and all that goes with it: camping, fishing, nature. I also love the hospitality of the people down here, they are all just so welcoming! If I wasn't a missionary I could spend all day out in a truck, listen to country radio. Kinda stereotypical, I know, but I love it. Sports have played a HUGE role in my life! I love playing sport! I grew up in rec league of any and every sport possible. Once I got a little older, I found my self in my groove in good ol football! I love football, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The hard you can hit the better it is:) I also spent some time playing baseball and basketball. I spent some time on the mats wrestling and on the track running cross country to keep my self in shape! I also love music, especially country! I love playing the guitar and singing along with it. It depends on who you ask as to whether or not I am a good singer. I also love the cello, I love and string instruments!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that this is the true church that God has placed upon the Earth today. I have come to this knowledge through much prayer, scripture study and lessons given by great leaders. I have always been a member of this church, so I don't have a conversion story as great as others. But I do have a testimony. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet today and that he is guided and inspired by our Savior. I know that Joseph Smith was inspired, received the Gold Plates and was able to translate them by the power of God. And because I know this, I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ and the Atonement. I know that I can live with Him again some day.

How I live my faith

I've never been an outspoken person so sharing my religion was never the easiest thing for me to do. But one of the easiest ways that I have found to share what I believe is to live those standards that I profess to follow. It is easier to start a gospel related conversation when somebody else asks "Hey, why don't you drink tea?". At that point I can share with them about Joseph Smith and other gospel truth, without it being terribly awkward. But as a missionary, you can't just wait for people to ask you about what you believe. So I have definitely learned on my mission to be outspoken and out going when it comes to proclaiming the gospel. I love these truths so much that it is getting to the point where I HAVE to share them with every one I meet. Though my mission will shortly end, I do not foresee my missionary work ending. I also know that the Lord is over all and He knows me. His tender mercies are over me, there are no coincidences:)
