Hi I'm Bonnie

I'm a full-time wife, mother, and home-maker. I love my family, music, and good books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and the mother of three young children and the stepmom of two teens. I studied music and creative writing in college and now teach piano and organ lessons in my neighborhood. Someday I hope to write a book or two. The most important things I do each day are love, serve, nurture, and teach my family. My husband is my best friend; he helps me keep the chaos of family life in perspective and encourages my personal dreams. We love being together as a family--playing board games, attending the kids' activities, and being outdoors hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon and in my early teens realized I needed to decide for myself whether I believed what I had been taught. As I read the scriptures and prayed, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me that I knew the Church is what it says it is: Christ's church on the earth, guided by His servants (prophets and apostles), and administered by His authority (the priesthood). I know that we are literally the children of God, our Heavenly Father, and that He sent us to this earth to learn, grow, and decide for ourselves whether we will keep His commandments and follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Knowing that I am a daughter of God and He has a plan for me and my family helps me find joy and beauty in daily life.

How I live my faith

Believing and living as a Mormon influences everything I do every day. When I pray meaningfully to my Father in Heaven and read His words in the scriptures daily, I feel His Spirit guide me in the details of my life, and I am more loving, patient, and happy. I often talk silently to my Heavenly Father in informal prayer asking for His help answering my children's questions, finding lost objects, disciplining with love, and seeing how to serve others. On Sundays I play the organ for church meetings and once a month I teach the women of the Church. I accompany or sing in our congregation's choir and love to participate in special musical productions at Easter and Christmas time.
