Hi I'm Madison Furniss

I'm an ambitious but shy girl, moving up the ladder of success while holding onto my values. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In December of 2013 I decided to go to school to become a Pharmacy Technician. Because it was a big step, I prayed about it, but felt that it was the right decision for me, at that time. In February 2014 I began feeling inspired to go on a mission. It came as a bit of a blow because I had made a lot of plans regarding my exciting new career course. But because I love the Lord and want to serve him with all my heart, I have decided to go. While it feels like a huge sacrifice for me to pause my life which has just begun, I know God wants me to do this and so I will go and be the best missionary I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

Some people think that because I was raised a Mormon, I will always be a Mormon but this is not true. When I was 18 I moved out of my home to go to college and had to make the decision for myself whether or not I wanted to be one. For a time, I stopped going to church and while it gave me more time to watch TV and do homework, it didn't make me happy. It wasn't until I returned full-heartedly to the church and gave my life fully over to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that I found true happiness. While it's not always easy to be a Mormon, how can I be anything else after experiencing the true happiness that comes from being one?

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a primary teacher in my local ward. I teach the adorable 4 year olds. However, while I love my calling and serve in it as faithfully as possible, I feel like the better example of my living my faith comes from my decision to serve a mission despite my own personal desire not to.
