Hi I'm Jay

I´m a nice guy, and I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I like school, working, playing sports, doing fun stuff with friends, eating, sleeping, I love it all. I`m going to be attending Brigham Young University after my mission. I love to go boating and camping. I love barbecue and just having a good time.

Why I am a Mormon

As stated in my Introduction, I was born in Korea. I was adopted and came to Utah when I was five months old. I have an amazing family and I love them all with everything that I have. My dad grew up in the church and my mom is a convert. I have lived my whole life in the church. This is not the reason that I am a Mormon however. Until I was about twelve years old, my main motivation for attending church and following the commandments of Jesus Christ was because I was good at it. I had developed a great knowledge of facts about the church and the Book of Mormon compared to other twelve year olds. When I was thirteen, I went to a camp. It was a camp to prepare us to serve missions. Part of this camp required us to go out in a field and find a secluded location. We had time to read our scriptures and ask of our Heavenly Father anything. Honestly, I felt completely content and didn't think anything of the activity. I didn't think that I needed help at all. I was a brand new teenager just trying to have a good time. I turned in my scriptures to Alma 37: 35-37. In essence it told me to center my life around Jesus Christ. This scripture changed my perspective on the Gospel. I was touched. I think I have always had a testimony, but it wasn't until this moment that I actually realized it. Since then, my testimony has strengthened immensely, and I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith truly restored Christ's Gospel again on the Earth. It is because of this knowledge that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a mormon, I attend church every Sunday for a three hour block. At church I am able to feel the edified and uplifted, and I gain valuable insights that help me in my daily life. On Sundays, I will also go to some of the other members homes with one of my neighbors and we will share a message with the families and just visit with them and see how they're doing and tell them how our families are doing. Every night, I pray and read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and look for inspiration. When I read and pray daily, I feel an added amount of strength to live the teachings of the Gospel, and I seriously love it so much.
