Hi I'm Dallas

I love sports. I am a diabetic. I am a missionary. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love all kinds of sports. I have played on baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. I also enjoy golf, skiing and snowboarding, water skiing/wake boarding, long boarding, skateboarding, hiking, and motor biking. When I was two years old, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It is something I have to cope with every day, but I don't let it slow me down. I am currently serving a full time mission in McAllen, Texas. I plan to come back to Utah for college. I hope to get my bachelor's degree within a couple years of when I get home, because I have almost earned enough credits for my associate's out of high school. I still am deciding what I "want to be when I grow up" but am considering becoming an endocrinologist.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father were members of the LDS church when I was born. They have both been very active in the church throughout my life, and I have been attending all my life. When I was eight years old I made the choice to be baptized an official member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was my personal decision, and not forced upon me by my parents. I have developed my own testimony of Jesus Christ and I love his teachings. I continue to be a member in this church because when I go to church I feel peace, and love for the people around me. Being a member of the mormon church has helped me find a joy that I feel could not have been found without having Christ in my life. As a missionary, my relationship with Jesus Christ has grown drastically. I have personally witnessed so many miracles and I cannot deny that God exists and that he hears and answers the prayers of his children. Each of us is a beloved child of God and he is always there ready to guide us if we will only give him the reins. I testify that Jesus Christ is my Savior and it is only through his sacrifice that we can find eternal happiness. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church upon the earth today. I invite all to come and learn for themselves.

How I live my faith

My membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps me to be a better person and try to be like Christ. It has provided me with many opportunities to serve others. I have participated in many different service projects such as helping widows in my neighborhood with yard work, visiting the elderly, collecting food to donate to charities, making toys or blankets for less fortunate children, and volunteering at a blood drive. I have been able to serve in multiple callings in my church. These callings have given me opportunities to lead a group of boys my age, conduct meetings, plan activities, speak in front of a congregation, and teach - both in a classroom setting and in the homes of other members. Right now I am carrying out my greatest calling yet: my call to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Texas. I am serving in the Texas McAllen mission. Although I was bit nervous to leave home for two years, I love the opportunity I have to share my beliefs in this gospel with the people of southern Texas. I have met so many wonderful people here and I have a passion for sharing the gospel that has blessed my life so immensely.
