Hi I'm Eli Miller

I'm an artist, musician, journalist and actor. I'm serving a full time mission in Tokyo Japan, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've got a love for learning and for life, so I like about anything. I just finished high school and am serving a mission in Tokyo Japan. I aspire to be an artist at Pixar after I complete a college education at BYU. I love art, I was the kid who got in trouble for water coloring in the back of English class, you can't put a pen or pencil in my hand and expect me not to doodle . I've worked at an art museum and taught a special education art class and honors high school art class, as well as raising money for elementary art education. I love music- I play the clarinet in large ensembles, the piano, a little organ and sing base in choirs, I'll be a part of anything music, for me music is one of the ways I feel emotions strongest. I'm an actor and director, and love being involved in anything theater, there's something magical about seeing life from the eyes of someone else. I love learning about the world, so therefore I've got a passion for journalism, I was an editor for a school news paper and literary magazine, and can't go a week without an episode of 60 minutes. I love the out doors , which means winters skiing on the slopes, and summers out on the lake or grandpa's ranch. I'm love learning, especially math, physics, American Literature and WWII history, plus there's a soft spot in my heart for the Olympics, sloths, and anything Disney. But above all else, what makes my life joyful, are my incredible family and friends and the gospel of Jesus Christ

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that this church is true. This gospel and it's teaching bring me great joy, and I know that I wouldn't be happier if I were to live any other kind of life. It's teaching and commandments when followed lead me to the most lasting happiness and freedom. It provides comfort to me in hardship and helps me overcome difficulties. Through the savior Jesus Christ, I can continue to grow and continue to change and always grow and learn. It helps me be connected to my family for all of eternity. It connects me to my father in heaven as well as our savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I think that we start out by living our faith/ living what we believe by what we do and what we say. But I think above all what really makes a difference in how we life our lives is by is who we are and why we do what we do. I think that the best way to live faith is through loving and serving others. In our church we make sure that each family has two men from the congregation to visit them each month to help them with what they need and to share spiritual messages. What I learned from this which I use in the rest of my life, is that on a basic level we show our faith by our actions such as making the monthly visits to our assigned families. However, when I began truly living my faith, I developed a love for these people, I became friends with these people. I've learned that it matters why we do what we do. And I've learned that the reasons we do things really effect who we are. I believe that love is choice and that it's never too late to be the way you wish you would have been. I know through my faith that it's never to late to change, and that through life we can keep on progressing.
