Hi I'm Benjamin

I am recent high school grad, a lover of music, and a lover of laughter. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a recent high school grad, my life is filled with opportunity and decisions. And it can be sorta scary sometimes. I plan to attend college after serving a 2 year church mission in Mexico City. No plans for my major, but excited to learn. During high school, I've competed in cross country, wrestling, and track. I've been part of amazing choral groups that have continued my love of music from early days of band and even earlier days of forced piano lessons (though I have come to love playing). I have been raised in a wonderful family with amazing parents and siblings. Although us siblings don't always get along, I am very blessed for the family I have and for the opportunities I have been given!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is unchanging and can be found in its wholeness in this restored church. Everything makes sense. Looking around at friends around me, they don't have the answers to questions that this church has: Where did we come from, what are we here for, where we are going, and so many more. The church is a thing that brings people together, brings families together. It has brought my family closer. I know through prayer, study, and the Holy Ghost that this church is true. That it was restored by The prophet Joseph Smith, and that the scripture he translated, the Book of Mormon, is the the word of God. I know that this church brings people closer to Christ, our Savior, than anything else can. I know our Redeemer is real, and that this is His church on the earth today. That is why I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

As a youth in this church, I have been able to both have the opportunity to participate and plan numerous activities, from service projects to dances to speaking in church. I've been privileged to have an amazing group of guys my age. We gone on week long grips to the boundary waters, gone white water rafting, spelunking in caves, among other awesome things. But every night we had a devotional. Whether from our leaders or from us, we were able to grow closer to Christ through shared testimonies and experiences. This support makes living a virtuous life easier in a world that all too often mocks such living. I'm able to live a life away from the complications and pitfalls of high school. I try to reach out and help those around me. I feel I am able to see things in perspective and the things that really matrer.
