Hi I'm Sam Heywood

I've grown up in a small town. I have an amazing family. I'm preparing for a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports, I played all throughout high school. Even though I'm not the best I enjoy basketball, soccer and lacrosse so very much. I'm the youngest of three kids and couldn't feel any more blessed to have such an amazing family.

Why I am a Mormon

A few short years ago an honest answer would have been simply because I grew up in the church and it's what I knew. I relied on "borrowed light." Now I have a firm testimony for myself that this church is true. I strive to become a better person each day and the church provides guidance and answers in that process. The eternal perspective that I have from this gospel makes daily hardships seem trivial and can provide comfort in even the most trying of times. For example, the knowledge that families can be together forever can ease the pain of the death of a loved one. Most of all, I know the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real and that we can apply it to each of our lives so that we can be forgiven. The amazing gift of the Atonement truly lets me know that Heavenly Father loves and cares about me individually, just as he does for everyone else in the entire world. What a comforting and amazing thought!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best example I can be to those around me. I know that my choices reflect my faith, and people notice even small things a lot more often than you think. In my church I help bless the bread and water that renew our covenant with God to take the name of Christ upon us.
