Hi I'm Tabitha

I grew up on the west coast of the US. I love traveling and volleyball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and I love it! I just finished my first year at BYU-Provo, an LDS owned university. At first, I was hesitant about going to a religious school, but I had the best time! I was surrounded by amazing people and I felt right at home. Being away from home was more difficult than I thought, especially since I thought I was very independent. The atmosphere and people at BYU alleviated my home-sickness. I found friends that loved to play volleyball like I do. I found friends that were passionate about working hard and playing hard. Most importantly, I found friends that had my same standards and loved the LDS church as much as I do!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. I come from a wonderful, loving family who taught me the gospel from the time I could talk. As a child, I never questioned the truthfulness of the LDS doctrine. Once I became a teenager though, I decided it was time for me to have a testimony and know for myself if the church really was true or not. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost testifying that I already knew it was true. Later in my teenage years, I went a trip to visit all the church history sites. One of the last places I visited was the Sacred Grove in Palmyra, New York. I felt the Spirit so strongly when I was there. I knew without a doubt in my mind that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, called of God, and that he saw God and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. Why am I Mormon? It makes me happier. I have a purpose in my life. I may not always have a plan for my life, but God does, and all I have to do is ask Him in prayer. I am a more Christ-like person because I live the gospel as best as I can. There are times when I make mistakes and stumble and fall, but the Atonement is always there so that I can repent. Heavenly Father is always there for me, through the good and bad. I know that I am a member of God's true church on Earth, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

How I live my faith

A few months ago, I made one of the most important decisions of my life: I decided to serve the Lord by being called on a mission to teach His gospel and bring others to have the joy and peace I do from being a Mormon. I am learning to speak Spanish and will serve the people of Argentina for a year and a half! I am so excited for this opportunity to learn and grow, and most importantly to help others be happy and know that God loves them!
