Hi I'm Ellis

I am a college student, dreamer, adventurer, chocolate lover, and currently serve as a missionary in Poland! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the small town of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Recently I completed my first year of college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I absolutely love the beautiful mountains and scenery that surrounds the BYU area and I cant wait to continue my schooling after my 18 month mission. In February I opened my mission call to serve in the Poland Warsaw mission reporting to the Provo MTC on June 18th. Poland is an amazing country and I can't wait to experience it for myself. My family is my rock! We really enjoy family get together's, especially camping! My interests cover a wide, random spectrum of activities that include: cooking, reading, chalk pastels, music, piano, anything outdoors, hiking, swimming, trail running, sports (especially soccer), gardening, dancing in the rain, and spending time with my crazy friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Religion has always been a part of my life. The people surrounding me have always been wonderful and they inspire me to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I grew older it seemed like me faith was being challenged more and more. Times always come that spur inward personal battles about what you believe and your relationship with God. I have come to find out that you never stop growing or changing and it is through those times of spiritual struggle finding God for yourself that you truly discovered your personal relationship with a loving and forgiving God. I learned through trial and error that the happiest times in my life have come when I was living my faith the best I could. My peace and personal happiness always comes through reconnecting with my Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I will continue to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because of the joy and perspective it brings. It is truly a blessing to have in my life. I know I have a purpose, I know that families forever, I know that God answer's prayers, and the peace that that knowledge brings is irreplaceable.

How I live my faith

Most recently I decided to open a new chapter of my life and live my faith by serving a full time 18 month mission. I am currently serving in the Poland Warsaw mission and get to witness the tender mercies, love, and trust that God has for His children everyday. Serving a mission is more different and difficult than I ever thought it would be, but what I get to experience as a missionary is life changing. I have discovered that faith is about many little things that add up to make a big difference. Studying the scriptures, praying daily, attending church, and surrounding yourself with good people and activities makes a world of difference in maintaining and growing faith. I always thought before that living your faith meant simply going to church and being a good person, but living your faith is all of those things and so much more. It is about having a deep and personal relationship with Christ and Heavenly Father. Living your faith is about trusting in God even when you do not understand everything life offers you.
