Hi I'm Lincoln Douglas Perkins

I'm from Bountiful Utah. I'm Asian in heart. I'm an Aggie true and through. Shouts out to my paps and my future wife (TNST)

About Me

I'm 21 years old from an incredible family of 8 . I was born in Virginia but later moved to Utah, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Washington, and Utah again. I'm a born athlete, I love music, ice cream is bae, and I am the best.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I know that this Church is true and that we have a purpose here on earth! There literally is no way around the Church being true, everything just runs into it!!! If you are questioning about God, go take a look in the Book of Mormon at Mosiah 4:9-10 or 2 Nephi 2:13-14. I truly believe that Jesus Christ suffered and atoned for all of our sins, and that through Him, and ONLY through Him, we can return to our Heavenly Father. I know Heavenly father knows who we all are individually, He knows our trials, our accomplishments, our wants, our desires, our happiness, our joy, our questions and our thoughts. He knows YOU by name! Sometimes we question if God truly exists because our life is hard....well no one said it would be easy! If you are ever sad, or "in the dumps" just smile, and I promise happiness is only 5 seconds away! If you choose God, you will choose eternal happiness - that is a choice you will not regret! If you are struggling go read Alma 36. At my life's darkest time, this chapter in the Book of Mormon changed my life, and brought hope. God is a God of second chances, He will always give a second chance, you just have to go and ask for it! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a Gospel of hope, a Gospel of light, a Gospel of comfort, a Gospel of Love, and a Gospel of truth. Everything about this Church and this gospel is good! Yeah we have rules, called commandments, but guess what? Every commandment has a blessing. Everything in this gospel will lead to happiness, literally EVERYTHING. God lives. He is my Father in Heaven, and He is your Father in Heaven. He knows who you are, because you are His child, don't ever forget, or doubt that! Trust in God, rely on Him, have faith Him, and then you'll see that this Gospel is for you. I am a Mormon, and i'm proud of it.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Lincoln Douglas Perkins
the answer can be found in 2 very simple scriptures in the Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 2:13-14: "13 And if ye shall say there is no law, ye shall also say there is no sin. If ye shall say there is no sin, ye shall also say there is no righteousness. And if there be no righteousness there be no happiness. And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery. And if these things are not there is no God. And if there is no God we are not, neither the earth; for there could have been no creation of things, neither to act nor to be acted upon; wherefore, all things must have vanished away. 14 And now, my sons, I speak unto you these things for your profit and learning; for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon." also in the Book of Mormon Alma 30:44: “All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth... and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator” The fact that we are alive proves there is a God. Take a look all around you, and think about how the things you really see came to be. We live in such a beautiful world, surrounded by many beautiful things, why wouldn't you want to believe in God? He is a hope for a better day, He his light, He is happiness, He is love, He is our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Lincoln Douglas Perkins
My favorite way to describe the Atonement is through scriptures found in the Book of Mormon. First if we look at what the atonement is, or what Christ suffered as He went through with the Atonement, we can turn to Alma 7:11-13 which will let us simply and perfectly know what happened as Christ went through the Atonement. Then, we can look at the story of Adam and Eve, which can be found in 2 Nephi 2:17-27. From the story of Adam and Eve we can understand the necessity of Christ's atonement. Simply put, without Christ we wouldn't be able to return back to our Heavenly Father's presence, we would experience both physical and spiritual death! However, through Christ's atonement, it is made possible for us to return to our Father, and obtain eternal happiness! 2 Nephi 2:26 says: "And the Messiah cometh in the fullness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves." I know, through the power of the Holy Ghost, that Christ truly did suffer for us, and it was through His suffering that He became our Savior and Redeemer. Jesus Christ, our elder brother, suffered and died for you and for me so that we could one day return to our Father in Heaven, if you pray about this, you too will know with a surety that this is not only true, but that it's REAL.
