Hi I'm Ayric

I grew up in Georgia and I love country music. I want to go into law enforcement when I graduate from college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the bustling suburbs of Atlanta where I enjoyed being an active member of my community and hanging out with my friends. High school was full of fun times and was always busy with adventures! I enjoy a good movie with friends. Currently, I am in college in Idaho where I will receive my Associate's Degree before leaving for a two year mission. I got my call to serve in the beginning of June to serve in the Peru Iquitos mission. I leave in the beginning of September. I am super excited to learn and preach the Gospel in Spanish!

Why I am a Mormon

My family is one of the best things we are given in this life. I could not imagine my life without them. How could I think that they are gone forever when we die? The restored Gospel has brought back the doctrine of eternal sealings to the earth, which means that through the power of the Priesthood, which was restored by proper authority to the Prophet Joseph Smith, I can and you can live with your families forever. Death is but a small moment when we we realize we can be eternal families. I know that this Church is true because of the witness I have received from the Holy Ghost when I read the Book of Mormon. It is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and complements the Bible in all of its teachings. I could not imagine my life without the Gospel. It has brought me overwhelming joy to know of where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I believe I can return to live with my Heavenly Father through obedience to the ordinances of the restored Gospel. Jesus Christ is my Savior and we profess him to the be The Only Begotten of the Father. He is the head of our church, which bears His name; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love Him and will do all I can to be worthy of His grace.

How I live my faith

I have been asked to be the secretary in the leadership body of the men's organization in my ward. This is my first big calling away from home in my campus Young Adult Ward. It has really taught me a lot about leadership and love for my fellow church members. It has been a blessing for me and has opened my eyes to the wonders of the gospel and the Atonement of Christ.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

The true Church of Christ operates under His authority. We believe that a Great Apostasy occurred after all the original 12 apostles were killed and the Priesthood, or the authority to act in God's name, was taken from the earth. The Restoration of the Priesthood occurred in 1829 and John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John restored the Priesthood to Joseph Smith. Because the priesthood was restored properly by those who held keys of the priesthood, all holders of the priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can trace their line of authority back to the Savior Himself. It's kind of like a movie ticket; I can't just make one up and go to a theater and say it is valid for any movie I like. It doesn't have the authority of the movie theater to back the ticket. The same principle is applied to baptism. If someone is to be baptized, they must have the proper authority from Christ to do so. That is why the restoration of the priesthood was so vital to today's Church. Show more Show less
