Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon but through out my life my faith has been tried and tested many times. But its through my faith in Christ and his Atonement that got me through the hardest years of my life. For that I will be forever grateful for all that the Lord has done for me. Mormons RULE!!!!

How I live my faith

I do the best that i can to exercise my faith. I love going to see the temple. I enjoy going to church very much. I talk with my heavenly father quite often. I read my scripture and try to comprehend them. I enjoy doing service for my church and its members. I enjoy doing home teaching. I love it when people ask me to give them a blessing. I have had the amazing opportunity to baptize one person already. I enjoy doing stuff with my youth friends and i love to talk to non members about the church.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Michael
The prophets have said that "Every able young man should prepare to serve a mission." We do this to spread what we know to be true. Also because of the happiness that we receive from the knowledge that we have from the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Michael
A boy of 14 years of age had a question. First off he was raised in a small town in New York where there was religious freedom and there were many churches. His family were going to different churches and he did not know which of all of them were "True" or which one has all of the correct pieces of the gospel that Jesus himself set up while he was here on this earth. So he did what we should all do when we have a spiritual question and so he turned to the scriptures. He was studying them for a time when he came across a passage that caught his eye and touched his heart. It was in James chapter 1 verse 5. "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him." He pondered the verse over and over again and came to the conclusion that he needed to ask of God. So he went to the woods and offered aloud a prayer asking Father in Heaven(or God) which of all the churches are "true" at this point he stated what he saw he said. "I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me, when the light rested upon me I saw two personages whose brightness and glory defy all description standing above me in the air, one of them spake unto me calling me by name and said pointing to the other, this is my beloved son here him." I know that right then Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and they spoke to him face to face. I know this is true. Show more Show less
