Hi I'm Jake Murphy

I am from Idaho, but born in Texas. I love wake surfing. I served in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love to wakeboard and wakesurf. My dream day would be to wake up early, wakesurf all day and all night, and then cool off with a nice cold cup of shaved ice (preferably coconut and raspberry). I consider myself a master of ping pong and a connoisseur of sushi. I love exotic foods, paella being the greatest. I love to help people with their problems so I plan on being a psychologist. I have 3 brothers and 1 sister that I love with my whole heart. I am always game to read a good poem. Especially William Blake's poetry. I believe poetry speaks to the soul. I'm not nearly as hipster as I sound, I promise.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be. My parents never forced me to go to church, but from a young age I gained a knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a true church, but not only that. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that matters so much. We as Latter Day Saints have His Gospel once again on the Earth. In short, I'm a Mormon because it is the only Church that is true. Jesus Christ had one Church and that is our church. The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live it by sacrificing everyday to flame of faith. We get so sidetracked in this world with money, clothing, cars, girls, and a hundred other distractions. We need to shut that out, put our nose towards Christ and go. That is the only way. That is religion. Anything else is just a good way of keeping in touch with the neighbors. If I cannot lay down at night and remember one way I was better than I was the day before than it was not a good day. Progression is the only way to learn Heaven.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jake Murphy
NO!!! We are not a secretive church! We love to serve everyone! Many people seem to get the idea that we don't want to associate with "non-members" but that is so not true. We are happy people who just want to spread our happiness. And if you are afraid to talk to us for fear of us just trying to convert you, than don't be. Some of my best friends are not Mormon. We try our very best to love everyone. Show more Show less
