Hi I'm Joe!

Born and raised in Utah. Spending my days in the streets of Jersey. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Joseph, long for Joe. If I were limited to only 3 things I could do for the rest of forever, I'd choose Music, Mountains, and the Gospel. Which is great, because all 3 of them can be done with your best friends and family! I am the third child from a family of 8, and the oldest son. Being a big brother is the bomb! If you can't find me exploring or just plain getting lost, your best bet would be the local record store or the nearest live music venue. Sharing live music, as well as listening while others share it, is a passion of mine. My biggest desire in life is to devote my time to rendering Christ-like service to anyone, anywhere. I aspire to be a full time humanitarian, and to travel the world doing so.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a "Mormon" because that is the nickname given to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, all because of the additional book of holy scripture that we read along with the Bible. But the only reason I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that I know through the divine witness of the Holy Ghost that it is God's Kingdom on the earth today. God sent us here because He loves us, and because we would make mistakes, He provided us with a way to escape the consequences thereof. That escape plan is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which was taught from the beginning of existence on this earth. Though at times the fullness of the gospel would be lost, God made sure to restore it to the earth so that every one of His children will be able to make it back to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by applying the principles of the gospel to my every day life, which more often than not includes mistakes. The great part is that no matter what kind of mistake I make, each one is solved with the gospel. As I overcome my short comings, put them behind me, and move on a stronger person, I can then go out and look for those people who also need help overcoming their weaknesses. Because Christ is the center of my faith, I do my best to live as He did. I always seek to render any kind of service to everyone I meet, because I know that is what the Savior did. Currently, this service is taking place in the beautiful garden state, New Jersey! I am smack dab in the middle of my 2 year mission for the church. Because my focus is to do what Christ did, I not only spend time teaching the gospel, but befriending and giving any kind of service needed to the amazing people I meet each day.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

To serve a mission is not at all mandatory, but why on earth wouldn't you? The way I look at it, the gospel is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. So why would I keep that to myself? I want everyone everywhere to know this marvelous news, and it is a huge honor to be an official representative of Christ in spreading His message. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Just as in times of old, God chooses His prophets. It's as simple as that, and knowing whether or not the current Prophet is called of God is as simple as hearing his words, and praying and asking God if he is! Show more Show less
