Hi I'm Ashleigh McCabe

I'm a sister, a student, a friend, and a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ashleigh, and my twin sister and I are twenty years old. I was raised in the small town of Scottville, Michigan by my mom and dad, along with my two bothers and two sisters. For the last two years, I have attended the United States Military Academy where I study electrical engineering. I will serve in the Taiwan Taichung Mission from October 2016-May 2018. I love to play and listen to music, compete in sports, hang out with my friends, and spend time with my family. I love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church because of my parents, who have been members since I was born. But it wasn't until I went to school that I really gained a testimony for myself. I am a Mormon because of the happiness and hope that it brings me. It allows me to see the world differently, and it gives me hope and strength through my own trials. I know who I am and where I am going in a way that many people don't understand. I love that I have a Heavenly Father who has a plan for me, who gives me the tools and guidance that I need to succeed in this life. I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel is true. The standards that we have help me to be a better person. As I have studied the scriptures and asked in faith if the things I have been taught are true, I have come to know through the spirit that they are. The gospel isn't just where I turn when things go bad. When I make it the center of my life, I am much happier.

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith refers to how I show what I believe through my actions. I may not be the best at it, but there are a few great ways to do this. The first is to try and live as Christ did. I try to see people as Christ would and treat them as He would. Another is to do the things that our Heavenly Father and His appointed leaders ask us to do. Some of these things are to attend church regularly, attend institute (a scripture study class once a week), and study our scriptures and pray daily. I have found the best way to live my faith is to make it a priority in my life, involving Heavenly Father in everything I do and doing all that I can put the gospel first. Everyone has too much to do and not enough time to do it, but I have found that when I put the Lord first, everything works out.
