Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in the small town of Natchitoches, Louisiana. I love this gospel and love sharing it with people. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Allison! I'm from a small town in Louisiana and I now attend BYU-Idaho! I love it here and the wonderful spirit I feel all around me. I am engaged to the most wonderful man I've ever met, Greg. He is such an amazing example to me and I can't wait to spend eternity with him! We will be getting sealed on August 2nd! I have one older brother and a mom and dad who love me and love this gospel. I love my family I don't know what I'd do without them! I'm just a normal girl who is still figuring everything out, but with Heavenly Father on my side I know anything is possible. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel gives me peace. When I was younger my mother was inactive and had been for years and my father was not a member. When my brother turned 12 he started taking the missionary discussions. I was only 4 at the time, but I could still see that my parents weren't happy. My brother eventually decided to get baptized and my mom, brother, and me starting attending church. However, my father still never came. When I was 8 I was baptized and a few months later my dad started attending church and listening to the missionary discussed. Eventually he was baptized too and a year later I had the opportunity to go to the temple with my family and be sealed for eternity. Now that I've had the gospel in my life for several years I can't imagine my life without it. When I think about it, it seriously scares me! This gospel is such a comfort and I am so thankful for it.

How I live my faith

Being in college, you have a new calling every 3 months! It can be a little crazy sometimes, but it's a wonderful way to learn new things at meet new people! Every ward I've ever been in has been amazing. I can feel the spirit from everyone I come in contact with. People are so willing to help me and answer my questions. The bishop and his counselors love every person in their ward. They pray from them by name and I can truly feel the love and compassion they have for me. As a result of everyone being so kind and willing to serve it makes me want to be a better person as well. I have so many wonderful examples around me. Serving my fellow man is how I live my faith.
