Hi I'm Jared

I'm Hawaiian. I'm an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are swimming, track and field, reading history, science and mystery books. My interest is computer science, math, science, history, engineer and technology. I was a college student, but right now serving a mission in Canada Vancouver.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raise as a Mormon. But the reason why I am a Mormon (LDS member) is I know that this gospel will guide me to eternal happiness, especially in seeing my family members again. And the second reason is I know that the principles and doctrine are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing community service, attending BYU-Hawaii devotions, and firesides.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

For me I grew up as an only child and having not much friends to be with in my early childhood. So, much of my best memories and teaching moments was with my parents. For example, my understanding and love to give service came from my parents. I experience service when my parents took me to a service program called "Meals on Wheels" (where on Thanksgiving day we go and give meals for the elderly people) when I was 6. I will never forget that moment when my dad and I gave an old man a meal. He was very happy to see us because his family didn't visit him often. That experience and many other memories of service was with my parents. Also, family is a perfect environment for children to have corrections in a loving way. And to be raised on principles that will make them industrious citizens to improve society. Show more Show less
