Hi I'm Eric

I am a nerd, in a band, a missionary, an uncle, and a nerd, (or did I already say that?) and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a young man currently serving a mission in the Germany Frankfurt mission. I love all sorts of different things, Firefly, Doctor Who, etc. I love science and math. While in High School I had the opportunity to intern in a BYU chemistry lab. I got to see what it was like at the forefront of scientific discovery. One of the things that I do in my spare time is smelting aluminum in my friend's backyard. We had to build a furnace that can withstand temperature over 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. I have really enjoyed doing that. I also play the trombone. I love jazz and classical music, and have played lots of it. Before I came to Germany I was in a band called The Lost Generation which consisted of 3 members who played a guitar, trombone, trumpet, guitar, harmonica, and whatever else we felt like adding. I love music and it is a very central part of my life. There is very little music that I have found that I do not like.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel. I know with all of my heart that it is true. I grew up in this church, so I've been in it my whole life. I haven't always fully believed it though. In Moroni chapter 10, the ancient prophet Moroni gives his farewell to the people reading, he also exhorts them to pray about the book seeking truth. I did that, I prayed to God asking if what I had been taught was true. I received an answer in my heart that it was true. The spirit of the Lord came to me and bore witness that this is the correct church and gospel. I know that it is true. I challenge all who haven't done so and even those who have to go and ask God for truth. Pray with real intent seeking truth and he will respond with angels singing songs of praise. Go.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a two year mission in the Frankfurt Germany Mission. I am here inviting people to come unto Christ by learning about his true church. It is so rewarding to feel the spirit testify to me daily that the work I do, no matter how my message was accepted, is what the Lord would have me do. Working with local members has been wonderful. I get to learn the beautiful German language and I have fallen in love with their culture. It really is a privilege and a joy to serve this people. To serve a mission is the best decision that I have made in my life.
