Hi I'm Brax

I am a son and a brother of two sisters. I believe anything can be cured by the smell of golf course grass, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in The Mecca of Mormons, Utah. I'm currently serving a two-year mission for The Church in the West Virginia Charleston Mission. Back home, I live with my Mom and little sister in "South Provo." (Because let's be honest, anything south of Provo and north of Nephi is just South Provo). My Dad, Stepmom, and other little sister live a little ways away. The most important thing in my life is my family. There is nothing on this Earth that is more sacred than the family. My time is best spent with them, gaining that eternal relationship with them. My favorite thing to do is make movies with my cousin/best friend/brother Ryan Johnson! Our dream is to #makeitbig in the movie business and create clean, wholesome, and entertaining movies for people to watch! I was never real big into sports, but I sure do love golf. My Dad and maternal Grandpa are both real big golfers, so I grew up on short, cut grass and fields of green. There really isn't anything that compares to the morning smell of cut grass on a golf course. I love directing, writing, airsofting, watching movies, reading, hanging out with friends, and preaching the gospel to my brothers and sisters in this world.

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 10 my parents split up. I was devastated. The full impact of their separation though did not come until years later. Starting at around 15 years old, I had the opportunity to start going with my uncle Hank Smith to firesides and other gatherings that he speaks at. Over the next three years, I went with him almost every single Sunday, and often throughout the week, all over the state of Utah to hear him give uplifting messages to the youth of the church. It was such a blessing to me in my life to have those extra few hours with him hearing him tell thousands of youth and their parents why he lives his faith. It created a deep desire in me to know why I live my faith. I am a Mormon because I know that this church is true. I am a Mormon because I found out for myself that God the Father and Jesus Christ love and care about us. I have found out for myself that The Book of Mormon is the word of God, that God will answer our prayers, and that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ, once again on the Earth, headed by a living prophet today.

How I live my faith

While I was little, I always wanted to be a missionary for The Church. I had grown up in Utah, surrounded by good values and doctrines. I spent my whole life preparing for the time when I would get to serve The Lord. My decision came easily to me, because it seemed like the thing that everyone wanted me to do. As I've learned for myself what blessings a mission brings though, I now know that this is the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. I live my faith by serving The Lord with all my heart, might, mind and strength. I have the opportunity to consecrate everything I have to Him. I learn His word, live His will, and remember Him and His sacrifice.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Brax
We believe that families have been established by God for the purpose of loving, serving, teaching, and learning from each other. The family unit is central to God's plan for His children! It is the way that God's children are brought into the world. Even though we can't choose when, how, or who regarding the conditions of our birth, we can choose every day to become better and to strengthen those we are around, starting with those in our own family.
