Hi I'm Samuel

I'm a Navy Brat. I'm a track star. I'm adopted. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, first things first I was adopted by a white family. I was adopted by my family a couple days after I had been born. Being adopted has turned into a really good thing for me. My father was in the Navy for 20 years (12 years of my life) so when I was a little younger we used to move a lot. I've been able to live in Spain, Washington, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and now since my dad is retired we now live in Utah. I have been into sports all my life. I played soccer, basketball, football, baseball and ran. I finally found my niche in running . I have been running cross country or track and field all the way since 6th grade. I know have a scholarship to run at one of the best distance running programs in the country. Sports have always been a thing I have enjoyed

Why I am a Mormon

The LDS church has helped me become a better person. I absolutely love being a member of this gospel. It hasn't always been easy. When I was about 13 I started to have a major trial. I didn't seek for the lord and bishops help until I was about 16. It took me 2 years to get over that and I am still not perfectly over it. I am so grateful for the savior in my life. That adversity has been something I can look back on and be proud of myself. Not proud of what I was doing wrong, but proud of getting over that. It truly strengthened my testimony of the savior. There is no other joy greater than being a righteous member of this church. Having the knowledge that I have been able to gain of my Saviors love for me and his plan for me to return back to him is awesome. I know that our Father in heaven loves every single person on the earth. I love the Book of Mormon and the Bible. The scriptures are one of the greatest gifts we have been given and the guidance and comfort we can obtain from them is amazing. This is the true church on the earth lead by a living prophet who receives revelation from God. Living the gospel has brought me a joy that cannot be found anywhere else. I love this gospel and the person it has helped me become. I can't wait to become an even better person throughout my life as I continue living the gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have gone through what the majority of LDS boys go through. I went through primary and the young mens program. I did Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. I have gotten the highest rank in Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout. I guess I have had your average everyday life of most boys in the church. My dad has served in the Bishopric for the last 6 years. He is now the Bishop of our ward. I now have the great opportunity to serve a mission for the church. I leave in 3 and a half weeks and I am very excited!
