Hi I'm Donald

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. I retired from the U.S. Air Force after completing twenty years of service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a model railroader and as my wife likes to say, a "tinkerer." We have ten children, twenty-seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. I've worked in prisons, jails, and juvenile detention centers as a rehabilitation instructor. I love jazz and classical music.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young Catholic earnestly striving to live my religion as best I could, I felt something was missing, incomplete, or just plain wrong. I stopped practicing Catholicism soon after I went into active duty in the Air Force. For along time, I even tried to prove to myself that God did not exist and that Jesus of Nazareth was just a good man with a great philosophy about this mortal life. That attempt quickly proved futile! Years later, I met a Mormon woman who just lived her life according to her life. After we were married, I met one of her friends who soon thereafter introduced me to missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Almost immediately, the stumbling blocks that I'd encountered with Catholicism disappeared and I found myself closer to my Savior and my Father in Heaven than I'd ever been before in my life. After a few meeting with the missionaries, I joined the church. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is complete for me! This does not mean I have or know all the answers to all the questions regarding the gospel, but I know more than enough to follow my Savior with all my heart, strength and spirit!

How I live my faith

I really enjoy visiting and socializing with the members of our congregation. The experiences and fellowship that we share enriches my life immensely.
