Hi I'm Ben

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I love to play soccer, basketball, and tennis. I play the violin and the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ben. I am an 18 year old in Utah who just graduated from high school. I currently have a mission call to serve in the Argentina, Buenos Aires North mission. I will report to the MTC in Provo, Utah. I love sports. I am a huge fan of all BYU athletics. I love playing sports as well. My favorites are basketball, soccer, and tennis. I never played any sports competitively at the high school level though because music is a bigger priority in my life. I play the piano and the violin. Besides taking private lessons for each of those instruments, I participate in a separate community youth orchestra as well as my school orchestra. With music taking up most of my extra time, I didn't have time to go out for school sports teams. When I get home from my mission, I plan to enroll in school at either BYU or Utah State. One of my biggest accomplishments was when I completed my first triathlon last August. Even though it was only a sprint triathlon (350 meter swim, 5K run, 12 mile bike), it was a challenge for me and required me to train a lot for. I hope to participate in more triathlons when I get home from my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for my whole life. Up through my early teen years, I went to church and followed church doctrine because it was what I had always done. I had never known differently. I relied almost completely on my parents testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I got older, I received more and more pressure to know for myself whether or not the things I'd been taught were true. I pondered and prayed about it every day. I wanted to feel that same wonderful confirming feeling that everyone was telling me they had felt. And I did. Every time I ask God about the truthfulness of the gospel, I get an overwhelming feeling inside! It is a feeling that comforts me and makes me happy! It testifies to me of truth. I know that God is my Heavenly Father and that he loves you and me very much. In fact, He loves us so much that he sent his own son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. I know without a doubt that is true! I know that because of

How I live my faith

Throughout my youth, I've served in a number of leadership positions in my youth group. These positions have taught me a lot about what it means to be organized and efficient. I attend my church services every Sunday morning with my family. Every Wednesday evening I attend some kind of activity with my youth group. These activities have ranged anywhere from biking, boating, or rock climbing to career nights (where we take a tour or learn about an interesting career possibility), cooking lessons, or service projects. Those activities have been a major highlight for me. I'm about to serve a two year mission for the church in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
