Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Sydney, Australia. I'm a primary school teacher. I'm a mormon

About Me

I love to dance. I've danced about every style you could think of including Irish! Although I'm not Irish!!? I graduated high school in 2012. I'm currently studying my bachelor to be a early childhood/primary school teacher. I enjoy working with kids and I babysit regularly. I have 2 brothers! TWINS!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a conservative baptist family and have always had a strong understanding of God and Jesus Christ but I never had a relationship with my heavenly father and a testimony of his son Jesus Christ. Whilst on YouTube I discovered the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and as I read and watched the teachings of the gospel a warm and calm feeling came over me and I wanted to be baptised. I contacted a girl from school and asked her if I could meet the missionaries. When they asked me why I wanted to meet them I said, I believe the church is true and I want to get baptised. 2 months later I was. It was the most amazing day of my life! It was hard to become a member. My family did not support my decision and I lost many friends. Today I have been a member for 8 months and it was the best decision I ever made. I love this gospel, I have a testimony of the book of Mormon and I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. I know that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I am grateful for my ward and all the many blessings that my heavenly father has blessed me with. I plan to serve a mission in the next 12 months and I cannot wait to share the Lord's church with his people. As the plan of salvation says, we all chose Jesus Christ to be our saviour. We all are children of our heavenly father. I know that the Lord is preparing his people to hear his word and I am excited for my testimony to grow more and more.

How I live my faith

I was recently called as a Family History Consultant in my ward. The Lord has encouraged us to learn about our ancestors so that we can take their names to the temple and do proxy baptisms for them so that they might be able to return to live with Heavenly Father. As a family history consultant we assist other members in researching their ancestors and entering the data onto their family tree on family search (the church's family history website). I am also a part of the YSA (Young Single Adults). We meet regularly at people's homes to chat about the gospel and how we can serve others. I meet with the missionaries as much as I can and attend the teaching appointments that they have that day and go tracting as well.
