Hi I'm Ruth

I was born in Sheffield, and now live with my 3 children in Chelmsford, Essex

About Me

I'm a mum of 3 and I also work with deaf people. I work in a college, and love all the things I learn as communicate for the deaf students! I'm currently working in an Agricultural college which is a whole different way of life to my city upbringing. I'm secretly loving the overalls and steel toe capped boots! I love spending time with my 3 kids and seeing them grow up and develop their personalities - all 3 are completely different. Definitely haven't got all the answers! I make loads of mistakes but luckily I have very forgiving kids!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church - I'm the fifth generation Latter Day Saint in my family. My Great Great Grandparents joined the church in Woodhouse, South Yorkshire in 1908 so the gospel was always a huge influence in my life. I grew up in Sheffield and then moved to Brighton to go University. This was a make or break time for me - I was 200 miles away from home, living in halls of residence and had to decide which way my life would go. Luckily for me, the ward took me under their wing and involved me from the first day - I knew I was where I wanted to be. Since having kids, I love the opportunities that the gospel brings to my children. I love that they are encouraged to reach their potential and given lots of opportunities to develop. As a family, we rely on Heavenly Father and in times of need, I get great comfort from seeing my kids turn to Him. I definitely need direction in my life - the gospel gives me goals to aim for and a plan for me to live my life by.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in my church and also the community. I'm totally disorganised, but with the right team, I love having a list and working through tasks to achieve things! I've had so much help from caring people over the years that I love when I can be the one who gives service. The gospel regularly pushes me out of my comfort zone and challenges me to do things that I'd really rather not! At the time its tough, but time after time I'm grateful for the opportunities that are put in my path.
