Hi I'm Holden Hardcastle

I'm a proud LDS Cadet at the United States Air Force Academy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from the great state of Utah where my family has resided over the last 11 years. I absolutely love my family and I cherish every moment I get to spend with them. I chose early on in life that I was going to serve my country as an officer in the United States Air Force and I decided to attend college at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to achieve this goal. I began my experience at USAFA in June 2013 shortly after graduating from high school. It has been a challenging experience to attend school here, but since the end of freshman year I absolutely love it here. I love opportunities to fly and train with these great future leaders. I have a passion for the outdoors and flight. I believe there is no other way to feel as close to God than by being in the nature he created. I have a mission call to Nagoya, Japan and I am excited to serve the Lord. I am excited for the future and the adventures it holds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church so it was natural that I got baptized at the age of eight. As I grew up in a household that was strong in the Gospel, I began to develop a testimony of my own through the scriptures and through the things I learned at church meetings. When I reached high school I attended Seminary and furthered my understanding of the Gospel there. My testimony of Jesus Christ grew and grew. Trials and tribulations confirmed my belief and I began to understand that there is a plan for us here on Earth and that we must keep the commandments and live the way our Father in Heaven would want us to live. I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ live. I know that we are His children and that if we will choose to live His commandments our lives will be blessed. That is why I have chosen to serve a mission: to spread God's love to those who do not know yet where to find it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not being afraid of what I believe in. I am always ready to answer a question about my faith to the utmost of my ability, which is good because I often get a lot of questions here at the Air Force Academy. The LDS cadet community here on base is full of returned missionaries who have served all over the world. I have never met a better group of young adults in my life. They are strong believers in the Gospel and their experiences help to boost and strengthen my faith. They are some of the best friends I will ever have. I try to read my scriptures and participate actively in church so that I can strengthen my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live by His teachings.
