Hi I'm Karlie.

I work for a trade association, I love being outside, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and am the second of six children. I graduated in communications and work for a trade association. I love living near the mountains and enjoy skiing in the winter and hiking and water skiing in the summer. I enjoy music and play the guitar and the piano. I believe in progress and growth, and I try to be better each day- a better employee, a better friend, a better daughter and sister. I look forward to being a wife and mother someday. I served an LDS mission in the Philippines for 18 months and love all things Filipino- especially the mangos!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very devout Mormon family. We were taught to go church every Sunday, to learn from the scriptures, and to keep God's commandments. While the teachings of Jesus Christ were introduced to me at church and by my parents, from a young age I read the scriptures on my own and recognized that the teachings of Jesus Christ would help me live a happier life. As I continued to read scriptures, pray to Heavenly Father, go to church, and strive to live what I was learning, I slowly learned for myself that what my parents had taught me was true. I know God is real, that Jesus Christ is His Son and our Savior, and I know that this knowledge can provide us with a foundation of security and peace during happy times and hard times. My belief in Jesus Christ and His teachings were strengthened and deepened as I shared them with individuals and families in the Philippines for 18 months as a full-time missionary. I witnessed that the people who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and followed him were happy and hopeful, even though they often faced many challenges and hardships. I loved sharing what I knew with these people, because I knew it would help them and their families. I also learned that the teachings of Jesus Christ are for everyone- from every background, ethnicity, upbringing, or former belief. With study and prayer, anyone can learn for themselves what I learned- that Jesus Christ lives and that His Church has been restored on the earth.

How I live my faith

I strive to increase my faith in God by going to church, studying scripture and the messages shared by living prophets, praying, and serving others. All these things bring me a lot of joy, satisfaction, and peace, despite my day-to-day challenges. I serve in the church by coordinating visits among the women in our local church unit to ensure their physical and spiritual needs are met.
