Hi I'm Ashley

I am the oldest of 6 children, I love to laugh and have fun, I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of six children, and I love it! My family is a huge part of my life and I love everyone of them. We are a very close and active family. I love to play tennis, to swim and anything that involves being outside and in the sun! When I graduated high school I went to cosmetology school and received my License. I love being able to make people look and feel good about themselves, to show the beauty that is already in them. I am also going on an LDS mission to the Chile, Concepcion South Mission and I am so very excited! I leave July 2nd, 2014!!! It's so incredible to have made this decision. I love the Lord and our savior Jesus Christ. Their love for me and influence in my life is what drives me, and is why I am the way I am... and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because of how I was raised. I was born and raised in the church, and it has been one of the biggest blessing I could have ever been given, honestly! I was able to learn from a young age the precious knowledge of our Heavenly Father and of his son, Jesus Christ. I learned that they love me, care for me, help me, and watch over me always. I know that when Christ was on the earth he established this exact church. He appointed apostles to help Him preach His words and words of His Father's. He was perfect, and with being perfect He was able to do something that no on else on earth could ever do, he atoned for our sins! He has felt and has taken care of not only the sins of the world, but knows and understands perfectly our pains, our sorrows, our fears and anxieties. That has been one of the biggest strengths in my life. Knowing that there really is always someone who knows what I am going through is so huge for me. So learning all of this from a young age has helped me to search these things out for myself. There have been times in my life where I have had the chance to walk away from this church and to "be my own person" but after those times of soul searching and prayer, I know that this church is true! I am such a better person for it. To serve the Lord and those around me. To do what is pleasing unto Him, so that I can one day return and live with Him and my family forever in the eternities.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. I am very active in the church and I serve within the church often. My parents are so wonderful and have taught me so may valuable things and have shown me what this church can do for my life for the better. I grew up in places where there were not a big influence of LDS people, and so living the gospel has constantly been a life choice. I make sure that the standards and the way we are taught to live in the church is the way I live my life on a daily basis, no matter where I am, who I am with, or what is going on around me. This has brought me so much happiness, stability, protection, and peace in my life when I do what is right. I have seen countless of times where living my life right and how Heavenly Father wants me to live, has blessed my life tremendously. I would be in a much different place spiritually and physically if the gospel was not a huge part of my life. That is why I have decided to go on a mission. I didn't always think that that is what I would be doing in my life but the Lord leads and guides to decisions in our lives that can ultimately better ourselves and to better those around us. I am so excited for the opportunity to serve in Chile! My life has been and will forever be blessed by having the Lord, Jesus Christ and His church in my life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

We can come to know our Heavenly Father through one of the greatest tools we have... Prayer! I love that prayer is one of the direct ways that I can draw closer to The Lord. Our Heavenly Father is exactly that... our Father! He loves us, cares for us and misses us! We can come to know, appreciate and love the fact that we have another Father, who knows what we are going through perfectly and knows who we can become. Prayer gives us that connection to speak with Him, to convey our thankfulness, our thoughts and worries and fears with Him. We are so blessed to have this in our lives! We just need to choose and then Come unto Him! Show more Show less
