Hi I'm LuAnn

I am a wife, a mother of four children, a sister, a friend, a homemaker, a youth leader, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like to eat chocolate treats and baked goods. I like order and tidiness. I enjoy listening to music that uplifts me and inspires me. I am a concerned mother about what types of media and how much comes into our home.

Why I am a Mormon

I delight in reading the scriptures and the peace and power they give me. I don't have a favorite scripture, because there have been many that have brought me comfort, guidance, and answers to my prayers. The Book of Mormon is a great book and the more I read it the more I am convinced that it is true scripture testifying and teaching of Jesus Christ. I can feel that truth within my heart and in my mind. It makes me feel good and things seem clearer and I better understand and it makes me happy. These simple feelings come from the Holy Ghost witnessing to me again and again that my living the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a Mormon is right. I have not always had a desire to read The Book of Mormon, but as I have humbled my heart and made it more of a daily practice I have allowed its words to teach me and the spirit testify to me. I know God is aware of me and loves me. I know Jesus Christ is real. He is the God of this world, the Savior and Redeemer of my mistakes and my sins. Jesus Christ can ease my burdens and helps me with challenges, I have faith He will always help me. Because of the Savior I have faith that I will see loved ones again that have passed from this life and that I may be with my family in the eternities. I know that through the Holy Ghost I can receive personal guidance and direction - my own personal revelation. This revelation can help me know what to do daily, how to best spend my time, who may need my helping hand or encouraging word, warn me of danger, and enlightens my mind to spiritual understanding. These things are blessings in my life. I am very grateful for the Gospel in my life and that I am a Mormon - a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I love family traditions! I enjoy yearly traditions, such as extended family gatherings for holidays and reunions; dressing up for Halloween and having a party; our family's special dinner and dance for Valentine's Day; and visiting cemeteries on Memorial Day. But I also enjoy daily traditions like family prayer and family scripture study and family dinner time. I like weekly traditions such as gathering together as a family Monday nights for Family Home Evening and attending church together as a family on Sunday. I feel these actions help bring us closer together as a family and closer to God individually. My family and I are not perfect at it, and things are not always "rosy" and someone is usually complaining, but we continue on in our efforts. My husband and I cling to or have faith in the promises and protection we know these activities provides. I love my family and I love God.
