Hi I'm Elaine

I,m a Mormon and I believe Families Are Forever. My husband and I have 5 children, ages 16, 14, 11, 7 and 5.

About Me

My parents joined this church when I was just a baby so I grew up in this faith. I feel so blessed that the church has always been a part of my life. My belief in my Heavenly Father and my saviour Jesus Christ has helped me through some really hard times in my life. I hold on to the belief that my family is forever. That death is just a short separation and one day we can be with our loved ones again. My husband had a stroke he was just 37 years old and I was 6 months pregnant with our 4th child. when others might have fallen apart I found the strength to keep going. The stress of my husbands stroke and months of slow recovery (he had to learn to talk and walk again) made the birth of our 4th child very traumatic and I spent 24 hours in special care. Members of our church were there for us showing compassion and love. from babysitting our other children to lovely home cooked meals. My husband now has Parkinsons Disease which is progressive and incurable. But we can get through this. I am so proud of our brave children I see the light of Christ in their eyes as they help their dad.

Why I am a Mormon

My life is hard but I am constantly blessed by the fact that I know my Heavenly Father and my saviour Jesus Christ are real, as real as me and you.... I know that they love me and always answer my prayers.

How I live my faith

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve others. To give back if you like what was done for me. When someone needs my help I am there for them. Being a member of this church is like being part of an extended family, we are there for each other you are never alone.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

I always explain The Priesthood as being equal to Motherhood. As Mothers we have an amazing opportunity to serve, The Priesthood gives our men an opportunity to serve in like manner. Our Heavenly Father is wise and wonderful if that's the way he wants it, then its for a very good reason. Show more Show less
