Hi I'm Dillon

I am from Rexburg Idaho and serving a mission in Eugene Oregon. I am very passionate about snowboarding, music, and business.

About Me

I am 18 and recently graduated from high school. I am very passionate about action sports, mostly snowboarding. I am also very interested in business, fashion, and music. After returning from serving my mission in Eugene Oregon I plan to attend college at Utah State University or the University of British Columbia, majoring in business administration with a double minor in marketing and human relations. I have an amazing family of mixed spiritual beliefs. My only siblings are four older sisters and we are all on of the closest families I have ever seen.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was raised a Mormon and baptized at a young age, but that doesn't mean I don't have my own conversion story. I was not brainwashed into being a Christian, I made the choice for myself. When you are baptized into the LDS church, you are given the gift of the holy spirit, which means that the influence of God can be felt at all times as long as you live worthy of his presence. This might sound crazy to a lot of people but there is no doubt in my mind that it is true. There have been times in my life when I have participated in things that are not in accordance with the teachings of the gospel and I know that my real, eternal happiness comes from when I abide by the the teachings of God only complete and true gospel. People believe that we personify a God who is really just a universal power so that we can relate to him, but I believe that people ignore the fact that he is a being because they don't want to live by his teachings. Life can be as complex or as simple as you make it and I believe that God made it pretty simple. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true gospel and the only gospel with the complete spiritual truth. There are so many amazing people who are not members of our church and we can learn something from everybody. Jesus Christ isn't just my savior, he is the savior of the whole world, and no scientific fact can shatter the feelings that this church has given me.

How I live my faith

It is not always easy to be a Mormon, it is no secret that our values are more strict than most modern day people, but i don't see them as limiting I see them as enabling. I have served in many church callings and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have found true happiness and self piece through the LDS church and I am excited to have to opportunity to serve a mission and share it with others who are ready to hear what I have to say. God never said that righteousness in this life would be easy, he just said it would be worth it, and I trust in what he has told me throughout my life.
