Hi I'm Noah Cook

I'm a tech enthusiast, a college student, I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 22 years old and I am one of four siblings. I am going to college to become a Software Engineer. I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Type III), which is a genetic condition that results in my bones being extremely fragile and short. I am in a powered wheelchair and have broken hundreds of bones in my lifetime. There are roughly 100,000 people in the world with this same rare disorder. I try to not let my condition limit my daily activities and aspirations in life. Swimming and camping are some of my favorite hobbies. My family and friends are such a huge part of my life and I love them with all of my heart. Being a disciple of Christ and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is everything to me and I know all of my happiness in life stems from my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives me a purpose and hope in life. The teachings of the Gospel help me to understand the reason behind my joys and sorrows. I know that the Savior has felt all of our pain and afflictions and that he is there to comfort me. I am a Mormon because I know I am a son of our Father in Heaven and I can feel his love for me as I pray to him. We can pull strength and overcome any challenge as we navigate life with Jesus Christ by our side. I am a Mormon because when I hear the voice of our modern-day Prophet, I know in my heart that the words he speaks are directly from our Heavenly Father, just as are the words of ancient scripture. I am a Mormon because when I read the stories contained in the Book of Mormon, I can feel truth radiate from it and I know my life is continually blessed because of it. I know it is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I not only love my faith but I also strive everyday to live it. I do this by being a positive force in the world. Being a good example, having a smile, and staying positive are always on my "to-do list" everyday. I live my faith by striving at all times to be like our Elder Brother and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is not always easy, but the Savior knows we are not perfect. I also know that by continually learning from our weaknesses and repenting that we can be the best version of ourself and the version our Father in Heaven intended for us to be. I am the Sunday School teacher for the adult class on Sundays and it has been such an amazing experience. I have learned so much about the Savior and the Scriptures and I know it has blessed my life. Finally, I live my faith by sharing the source from which my happiness comes from with my friends and the people around me. I know we all can find everlasting happiness when founded upon the principles and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
