Hi I'm Lauren Paxman

I’m a wonderer. I'd be content to spend the rest of my life with a back pack on my back and hiking boots on my feet. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

My life completely and utterly revolves around all things outdoors, there’s something about nature that speaks to something far deeper in my heart. I live fully, from one high adventure experience to the next and I love the challenge that comes from doing tough things. I’m an avid hiker and I enjoy canyoneering and rock climbing and any other activity that puts me in the mountains. The mountains are an escape for me and a big part of the reason why I chose to attend BYU Idaho. I can't stay in one place for too long and I have a passion for traveling. God gave us such a beautiful world and I am going to do my best to see every bit of it AND do it the best way there is, I’m a road trip enthusiast. I love donkeys with every fiber of my being and I am pretty fond of big dogs too. I spent time in New Mexico on a scout ranch working as a wrangler and loved every moment of it. I am an avid believer that laughter cures everything and so do cookies. I'm a nerd and wouldn’t argue with you if you called me one. My religion and my faith are everything to me and I absolutely love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? It's because of the knowledge that I have, the faith that I have, the LOVE that my Savior shows me and the change that I have seen in my life. More simply put, I am happy. Our Heavenly Father has a great desire for us to be happy in this life and I have chosen to live my life in a way that brings me the greatest amount of joy. Once I chose to live my life in harmony with the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ, which are found within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I found peace. I found peace and joy and comfort and love and all of these feelings come from the Lord. I know that I feel this way because I have found truth. I am happy, my heart feels peace and each day I recognize the hand of the Lord in my life and that brings me joy.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in South Carolina and it was and is the best choice that I have ever made and probably the biggest adventure as well. I don’t believe that I could ever or will ever grow as much as I have in the short time that I have spent serving the Lord. There isn’t any other feeling that compares to the one I get when I share the gospel with others. I would take this feeling over any mountain any day.
