Hi I'm Corrine Howard

I was raised in Arizona. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Typical of living in the heat, I like being outdoors and the occasional sporting activity. I am far from being athletic however. I finished two years of college and I am taking a break from school to serve a mission. I was raised in a home with only my mother and my older sisters. This allowed us to become relatively close as siblings.

Why I am a Mormon

Initially, I was a Mormon because I was raised in the church. As I became older, it was time for me to figure out for myself if the gospel was true. Through finding my own testimony and faith, the reasons for why I am a Mormon changed. I am a Mormon because I know that His church brings me closer to Him. It also teaches how families can find happiness through the redemption and teaching of Jesus Christ. I had to find this out for myself. I knew that it couldn't be something that I did just because it was what my parents taught. Through reading, praying, and pondering on the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, I found out for myself that it is true. It came to me through the feelings that I felt while I was reading it and praying to God to know. It was through that that I can say that I know the Book of Mormon is true and that His church has been restored again.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith every in a bunch of different ways. One way I do so is by serving others when I have the opportunity. Though I am not perfect at doing so, I try and help those who are doing through a rough time, whether it shows or not. I also try to follow and do what the scriptures and the prophet guide me to do. I also am living my faith by serving a mission and dedicating that time. It is not always easy to live my faith, but I strive every day to become like Jesus Christ.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Corrine Howard
The current prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. Along with a prophet, there are apostles called today similarly to those Christ called in his ministry. God has called them to lead and guide the church and its members during this day as he did in other times. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Corrine Howard
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is when Jesus Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross at Calvary. When he suffered in those places, he was taking on the sins of the world and atoning for them. By atoning for our sins, He paid the price for us that has to be paid when we sin. Christ sacrificed his life so that we could be cleansed from sin to be able to live with God, who is our Eternal Father, once again. To me, there are a couple of key reasons why the Atonement of Jesus Christ was necessary. For one thing, we all make mistakes. Because of those mistakes we make, we aren't yet quite ready to go back to the presence of God. We learn through scripture that "no unclean thing can dwell with God" (1 Nephi 10:21). When we repent, we use that atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ to be cleansed of our sins or mistakes. Heavenly Father, or the Eternal Father, and Jesus Christ knew we would need that chance to repent and make things right, so God provided a way through Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
