Hi I'm Kodie

I grew up in Wisconsin I am studying to be an animal scientist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Minnesota I was raised in a small town in South Central Wisconsin. I was adopted into a wonderful family of my mom and dad. Small though our family may be we have been able to go and do many things which have helped to shape my life. I am now a university student and am studying Animal Science and I love it. I love everything outside! I love to hike, horseback ride, four- wheel, swim, go on adventures. I have been blessed to travel and have been to several countries in Europe, New Zealand and was able to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in the beautiful country of the Philippines for 18 months of my life. I grew to love the people there and have been changed because of their humble examples to me and my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was baptized at the age of 8, I went through a time in my life when I had to decide for myself if this was the true Church of Jesus Christ. I found myself in college, and making my own decisions, though I had always felt that I knew of the truth I found myself slowly slipping down a path that was unfamiliar to me and not the one that I should have been on. It was during that time that once familiar things to me had become unfamiliar and I had lost sight of who I was. Though I thought I found happiness in the things that I was doing I could feel that something was missing. I found myself in a place where my reality was confused. I didn't think or really know if there was even a God at all. On one particular Sunday I found myself visiting an old friend who had just come back into the country after a year abroad. She got up in church to bare her testimony. I can not tell you all she said in detail, but I do remember that she said "I know with all my heart that Heavenly Father is there and loves me." I was baffled here was my friend who was younger than me who knew this. I didn't understand. I made a choice to find out for myself if there was a Father in Heaven and if He did love me. I got on my knees and prayed, an odd feeling if you don't know if you are praying to anyone, and asked if there was a God. After a few moments I felt in my heart in a way that is all but impossible to explain that He was there. I learned that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church. Since then I have often asked other questions and come to know of the truth. I know God loves us and answers our prayers. I know there is a Christ and he loves you and me individually and we are special to Him. He hears you when you feel alone, and He is there for me and you always.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best person that I can possibly be in order to live my faith to the fullest extent. I have been called in our church as each woman over the age of 18 is in our faith is to serve others around me especially other women in a calling called visiting teaching. Here I am able to meet wonderful sisters who have so much to share with me, and I learn and grow from them while I in return serve them to my fullest ability. I am able in many ways to serve the women, sisters, in my area and I love these opportunities. As a part of these callings I am able to teach lessons and learn and grow from these lessons myself.
