Hi I'm Lauryn Pearl

I love American history, softball, and the violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student majoring in American studies. The most amazing part of my college career has been an internship in Washington, D.C. I served an LDS mission in Nicaragua. Central America feels like home. I love the Spanish language. I love playing softball and the violin. The gospel and my family are the most important things in my life! They bring me both strength and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in a family with deep tradition in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, my love for the scriptures was developed at a young age. I have studied the Book of Mormon many times and know for myself that it is true. I strive to live the principles of the gospel, and my faith and understanding continues to grow as I experience for myself the blessings that follow living the truth. While I was serving a mission in Nicaragua, I would find small coins on the street with the words "En Dios Confiamos" (In God We Trust) inscribed on them. Being a missionary is not easy-and neither are most of the experiences we face in life. But I have learned that when I put my trust in my Heavenly Father, I find greater understanding and blessings than I ever could have on my own. I have a lot to learn and lots of room to grow, but I know that as I continue to put my trust in my Heavenly Father by living the covenants and promises I made with Him at my baptism and in the temple, I will be blessed. Eventually someday I hope to return to Him and receive all that He has. In the meantime, I plan to continue to grow step by step, line upon line, precept upon precept. Being a member of the Church has brought me strength and power up until this point in my life-and I will never turn my back on it!!!

How I live my faith

I try to actively do what I know my Heavenly Father wants me to during my time here on earth. I know that the small and simple things are the things that make all the difference and so I strive to make sure I do things like attend church meetings, participate in activities, fulfill my assignments, study the scriptures, pray, and share the gospel on a regular basis. I have discovered that a successful, happy day includes three things: 1-something HARD (because that is how we learn and grow, which is the whole reason we're on earth) 2-Heartfelt Service (because that's where greater happiness, relationships, and understanding are found) 3-Something that makes my heart HAPPY ("Men are that they might have joy" - this earth was created for our happiness and we ought to live our lives to the fullest)
