Hi I'm Allison

I am a missionary, fun-loving, people person! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a small town in Utah so I grew up working outside and being in the fresh air. I love it! I have just finished my first year of college and am studying Behavioral Science. I am definitely a people person and love studying the habits/norms cultures have. I love singing, baking, sewing, reading, the outdoors, and sunshine! I enjoy being around my family and going on adventures with them. At the moment I am serving a mission in the great state of Texas to let others know about this wonderful gospel. In order to do this, I have saved up, sweated over, thought about and prepared for what I am doing right now. I am grateful that I am able to see the many miracles and sweet moments that come from sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in this church and am currently on an 18 month mission. I was able to rely on my parents' faith in this gospel when I was younger but I have gone through my own conversion as I have gotten older. I have been able to feel the difference "between going through the motions" and really living and loving this gospel. I am a Mormon because I know that my Father in Heaven and my Savior love me unconditionally. I can feel the light that the gospel brings into my life and I want to keep that forever.

How I live my faith

I pray to my Father in Heaven and have daily scripture study so I can learn more about this gospel everyday. I am trying my best to know Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I attend institute (religious classes for young adults) and participate in church callings. I also try to live each day the best that I can and treat others as Christ would. What we believe in should be shown through our actions each day.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Women don't have the priesthood because that is what the Lord has commanded us. I was recently asked by a friend if I wanted to have the priesthood and I said that I did not. I believe that just because I don't hold the priesthood does not mean that I am not capable of making a difference in this Church. There are many different callings that women have within the church where we are fully involved in planning, teaching and counseling with other members within our wards. Men and women have equal standing and importance in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have never felt otherwise. Show more Show less
