Hi I'm Amy

I was a Division 1 athlete. I survived a terrible accident. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played basketball my whole life. I accepted a full-ride scholarship to play college basketball at high level institution, fulfilling my dream. However, three weeks into my journey there, I was running down a mountain and I fell over the side of a cliff. Somehow i grabbed onto a tree which saved my life. I was rescued by a search and rescue team and have since had three surgeries to repair my knee. There is no doubt that angels surrounded me that day, and i was saved. Since i can't play basketball anymore, i enjoy playing the piano, traveling, writing, and being with my family. I one day hope to become a surgical assistant, or something similar.

Why I am a Mormon

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the true church upon the earth. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real. They love me more than i can understand. I know that the Savior suffered for all of our sins, so that when we make mistakes, we can become clean again. He suffered for every single one of us, but i believe that even if I was the only person on the earth, he would have done it just for me. I know that Heavenly Father created a specific plan for me, to be happy. I know that he wants me to return to live with him one day. He knows all things. He knows when i am sad, or happy. When i am disappointed, and excited. He knows my struggles and my fears. And He is right there every step of the way. He has never left my side. Through my trials, He has never left me. He has sent me trials so that I could grow and come closer to Him and to the Savior. I know that I have certain things to accomplish while here on the earth. And i know that once i leave the earth, i can return to live with Him. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what truly makes me happy. It is THE most important thing in my life. It is why I am alive.

How I live my faith

I love attending my church meetings. I recently served in a position where i was in charge of a large group of girls. I was able to teach lessons to them and learn and grow with them.
