Hi I'm Tyler Daynes

I'm a snowboarder, a musician, an older brother, a wannabe mountaineer, an Aggie, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern California and I have always loved the outdoors. I love being in the mountains most of all. From rock climbing to snowboarding and anything in between, I just love being outside. I also play Trumpet and sing. I grew up in a musical family and I really enjoy playing music because it can touch people in ways that words just can't. I am the oldest of three children and I love being the older brother. I also love spending time with my friends, whether just hanging out or hiking it's always a good time. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the great Tennessee Knoxville Mission, and I plan on studying Environmental Engineering at Utah State University when I finish my mission in 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ. I know that the authority that Jesus Christ gave to his disciples has been restored, and that there is a prophet of God on the earth today. I know this because I have asked God in sincere prayer and He has revealed to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is his one true church. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration and that through him God has revealed another volume of scripture called the Book of Mormon. I love being a Mormon because we are encouraged to love one another and strive to live our lives in harmony with Jesus Christ's teachings. I love my savior Jesus Christ and I know that he loves me too.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I have always tried to live my life like Christ would so that my younger siblings and friends would see me as a follower of Him. I love the pure love of Christ that is felt in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I am serving a mission in Knoxville Tennessee from July 2014 to July of 2016 so that I can share what I know to be true with all of God's children that I can reach.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Tyler Daynes
Yes. After His resurrection, Jesus Christ appeared to the people on the Americas. He ministered to them, healed the sick, and set apart twelve disciples. This wonderful event is contained in the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Tyler Daynes
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the suffering he paid for our sins. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemanie and sweat "great drops of blood" because of the agony of our sins. He bore our pains, sicknesses, weaknesses, sadness, and everythig we could possibly go through. Then he was crucified by Roman soldiers on Calvary. 3 days later he rose from the dead, and because of his resurrection, we can all live again too. Without the Atonement of Jesus Christ, our whole existence would be pointless. If we follow him we accept his sacrifice. We follow him by live his gospel, namely Faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. If we do these things, the grace of Jesus Christ will cleanse us and free us from our burdens. Show more Show less
