Hi I'm Collin Marsaw

I'm an American, I love my country and I will serve it one day. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I received my Eagle Scout for the Boy Scouts of America at age 14. I love the great out doors, I love to hunt , hike, bike, and do water sports. I currently attend college I am a True Aggie. I' am currently serving my mission in the New Mexico Farmington Mission. My mission covers the four corners area of the U.S which includes the Navajo, Hopi and Apache Reservations. I never thought I would be this excited. I am so blessed to have been born in the United States of America.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) because I was born into the faith. But just because I was born in it doesn't mean I had to stay. It felt right being a member, I could and can always feel the presence of the Holy Ghost. Why would I want to leave that? I do not want to think about where I would be if I wasn't a member of this church, all I can tell you is that I wouldn't have the successes and blessings I have if I wasn't a member.

How I live my faith

Before I came up to school I participated in the young men's program and Boy Scouts, the experiences and things I have learned I wouldn't trade for anything.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Collin Marsaw
Mormon women are beautiful because they have respect for their bodies and they have standards that they hopefully follow (every woman in the world has standards, some just have them more that others). We do believe in equality, for men and women no one should think they are better or more important than the other just because they are a man. Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Collin Marsaw
It is very funny that people call Mormonism a cult, I laugh at that… If this were a cult, we wouldn't have the choice to stay or go. And as far as I know, there are no compounds somewhere where people are forced to stay, and where the FBI-Federal Bureau of Investigation-comes knocking to arrest people (Waco, Texas- Branch Davidians 1993). Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Collin Marsaw
Plain and simple, I dress in business attire for church since it is reverent (slacks, white button down shirt and a tie, and a suit if I feel like it). I celebrate a bunch of Holidays… Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween (not a holiday, more of like a fun day), 4th of July, Memorial Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day (these are the best days cause I get to spoil my parents… we should always do that since they do so much for us, or at least mine do). Pioneer Day (a Utah thing), and family member birthdays/anniversaries. I even go out and buy Mexican food for cinco de Mayo (May 5th). Show more Show less

Yes Mormons are Christians, the name of our church is… The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. All history books say Mormonism is a sect of Christianity. Jesus Christ sits at the head of our church. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Collin Marsaw
The priesthood is given to all worthy males… That is our duty on Earth, to attain the priesthood and live a worthy life. Women give birth to children men don't they only assist in the process of creation, that is because the Lord set it up that way. Men preside over their families with the priesthood to protect them, and women nourish the children, because they have that gift… the mother gift. Men do not have the mother touch therefore they were given something to compensate for that. If we read the scriptures, listen to church leaders, pray and seek personal revelation about this matter, we will find the answer and we will know God's plan for us. Everyone has a purpose and place on this Earth, and we all need to figure that out. Show more Show less
